Nikola Vasiljevic from DTU Wind Energy has been appointed as one of the first European Ambassadors by the Research Data Alliance (RDA).
RDA is a community-driven initiative launched in 2013 by the European Commission, the United States Government's National Science Foundation and National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Australian Government’s Department of Innovation with the goal of building the social and technical infrastructure to enable open sharing and re-use of data.
As a RDA Ambassador, Nikola Vasiljevic will act as the bridge between wind energy and RDA communities, enabling two-way communication and engagement vector: promoting RDA outputs and perspectives while streamlining insights and practical contribution from domain focused data communities into the work of RDA.
The appointment follows a call for applicants in 2018 where Nikola submitted the proposal titled “Making wind visible”. Among the total of 32 applicants six were chosen to become the RDA ambassadors.
About the new position, Nikola Vasiljevic says:
“I am very proud to be chosen to be RDA Ambassador since it represents the verification of results which the wind energy community achieved in several European projects related to research data management. I applied for the position since it will bring the visibility of the wind energy domain in the RDA and allow our community to tap into the latest research data management practices. Overall, this will allow us seamless integration in large European initiatives such as the European Open Science Cloud and GO FAIR.”
